For one thing, at least some of the time you post from
adrian at elisp.de.  Mailman sometimes gets confused if your "Sender" is
not subscribed, too.

Yep; you need an explicit address.

I don't think there's much point in writing to xemacs-services-owner
(that's you and me IIRC), and writing to xemacs-services-bounces is
counterproductive (that's always handled by a 'bot).
