Yes - they use the same backend.

The axfr-part of our dns server is separate from the actual dns server 
(we use tinydns). Thus it doesn't respond to notifies. This isn't a 
problem in daily usage - but if you for some reason have to push a dns 
change really fast you can just contact us and we'll do it manually. I 
haven't read too much on this but in general there are many problems 
with A/IXFR: http://cr.yp.to/djbdns/tcp.html (I haven't checked our 
setup - it wasn't me who set it up ;-) )
