  thanks, matthew and thomas, for bringing YHSLUG back to life. it sure would be
fun to get together for some new meetings.

   for those who might be interested, here's an article that came out on
newsforge earlier this week about "rosetimes," a method i invented that allows
video interviews to be conducted over the internet with crystal clear audio.

    i'd love to explore creating rosetimes in cinelerra and maybe create some
screencasts explaining our explorations.
 
    thanks are owed to jeff elkner for setting up the ubuntu box at my job at
the takoma park maryland library. i'm able to plow thru a lot of work each day
using this system.

btw, the digital camcorder i use to create rosetimes, the canon zr500, sells for
about $225 to $250 online. use pricegrabber.com to find the best price. stay
very clear of any mail-order company located in brooklyn. (they are known to
treat their customers abusively.)   Dell Home is probably your best bet.
