hi yhslug community -
i bought a dell optiplex gx110 computer for $55 this evening and will be
installing ubuntu on it and reselling it for the same price i bought it. this
computer has 256 megs of RAM and a 20 gig hard drive. (733 Mhz.)
i'd like to shoot a video of the install process and show people how fast
firefox runs on this hardware. i'll be uploading the video to the internet
archive, google video and youtube.
just curious if there's anyone in our community with access to an hdv
camcorder? (hdv is the consumer high-def video format.) i can edit hdv video on
the G5 mac i have at work.
the internet archive won't mind at all if i upload several gigabytes of
hdv video. this video is something that other LUG's will be able to download and
show at their meetings. i'm thinking of a video around 15 to 20 minutes in
duration.
thanks for sending me an email off-list if can get access to an hdv
camcorder. i can bring the dell anywhere for the video shoot -- although my
preference would be to shoot the video at my workplace -- the video room in the
new takoma park community center. i have 24-hour access to that room and can do
the video edit in the same room.
