While I may agree with the ideas put forth it in this petition, I strongly
disagree with its tone.
Threatening Novell drives them further away and makes the OSS community look
like a bunch of crazy zealots, which is absolutely the worst thing to do if
you want to expand mind-share.
Furthermore, while Microsoft may have a role in attacking Linux using patent
trolls,accusing them of wrongdoing without at least citing a source or
specifying the troll company involved may make readers less inclined to take
the other claims presented seriously.
I do agree that far from securing users against litigation,Novell has opened
a Pandora's (or Bill's) box of troubles through their agreement with
Microsoft.
