[Yhslug] short video commentary on youtube

hi yhslug community,

       to help people come to clearer understanding about the power  
and need for free software we've got to seize some of the no-cost web  
tools available to us.

        it took me almost no effort to make this short web commentary  
this evening.

           yes, i used my windows xp system to do so. if there's a way  
of doing so on linux, i'm all for going that route, too.

           i shared the link to this video on a civic discussion email  
newsletter that i participate on in DC.

           about 1,500 people subscribe to this newsletter that comes  
out twice a week. subscribers include all DC city council members, the  
mayor and a bunch of print and broadcast reporters.

            people on this email newsletter know me pretty well  
because i've been posting thoughtful (and sometimes funny) messages to  
it for the past 10 years. i also composed a 20-minute song about this  
online community.

            we must make media to make the world more free.  and if  
there are no civic discussion email newsletters that serve our county,  
we must create (or support the creation) of such.

             we must take the message to our communities and not wait  
for our communities to come to us to hear what they need to hear.
