I just did a configuration on the Dimension E520 on the Dell website.
With exactly the same hardware, the Ubuntu machine is $50 cheaper.
With the cheapest MS Office ("Home and Student") it's $200 dollars
cheaper. With all the software you will ever need ever again gratis,
that number keeps growing.
