Funny, Nick and I were talking about this last night on the ride back from
xkcd.  We agreed that the education system is essentially useless.  I
commented on the article, and I pointed out that nothing I've learned has
come from a teacher.  I swear, the education system thinks kids are daft!
"You can't learn that yet!" "Yes I bloody well can, and I will!"  Perhaps
they need to make it easier to skip a grade...or 3 or 4.  I know plenty of
people who go off and teach themselves things or get their parents to teach
them things that they aren't taught in school because the school is teaching
them nothing.
